How this works:Enter your transformer’s dissolved gas data below. The IEEE Std C57.104-2019 standard requires specific data points to produce an accurate assessment, including gas concentrations, oxygen-to-nitrogen ratio, and transformer age. On the next page, we’ll collect your contact information so our team can deliver your results.

Transformer Identification

Required by IEEE Std C57.104-2019: thresholds vary by transformer age.

Oxygen and Nitrogen Concentrations

The IEEE Std C57.104-2019 standard uses the O₂/N₂ ratio to determine whether the transformer is sealed or free-breathing, which changes the applicable thresholds.

Dissolved Gas Concentrations

Enter values in parts per million (ppm). At least one gas concentration is required.

ppm

Indicates partial discharge activity

ppm

Indicates low-temperature thermal faults

ppm

Indicates high-temperature thermal faults

ppm

Indicates moderate thermal faults

ppm

Indicates arcing or high-energy discharge

ppm

Indicates cellulose (paper) degradation

ppm

Indicates cellulose degradation or normal ageing

IEEE Std C57.104-2019 uses the rate of gas generation between consecutive samples to assess fault severity. Providing a previous sample improves the assessment.

About the standard: IEEE Std C57.104-2019 is the IEEE Guide for the Interpretation of Gases Generated in Mineral Oil-Immersed Transformers. It uses percentile-based thresholds derived from over 1.3 million DGA reports across 313,000+ transformers. Thresholds are segmented by O₂/N₂ ratio (sealed vs. free-breathing) and transformer age. The standard classifies results into three DGA status levels based on the 90th and 95th percentile of the population dataset.

Why request an assessment?

Standards-based

Your data is analysed against IEEE Std C57.104-2019, the most widely referenced guide for transformer dissolved gas interpretation.

Expert review

Results are reviewed by the Delta-X Research team, developers of Reliability-based DGA and the Transformer Oil Analyst software.
